There are days when everything seems wrong, when little things hurt you for no good reason. And then there are days, when the world just sings to you, from the minutes you open your eyes to the minute you shut them again at night
Every once in a while, me and my office mates have this bonding get together.
And since our annual sportsfest is near, we decided to practice bowling, courtesy of course by our boss.
We went to Paeng’s Midtown Bowl and Billiard Room at 2nd floor Robinsons Place Manila.
Before the game. We were supposed to do some stretching, but we ended up taking group pics.
My attempt to make at least a spare. Guess what? I wasn’t able to turn down a single pin with that shot. I was that lame when it comes to sports.
This is what I’m good at ….eating…hahaha!
Score isn’t good, so I decided to just strike some pose with the bowl.
Final score. I got the lowest score. huhuhu! Anyway, I had fun playing.
The girls after the game.
I am not really a sporty type of person, but I did enjoy our bonding. It is actually my third time to play bowling. Two annual sportsfest games and this one.
Maybe next year I might get some decent score. 😀
The other day me and my girlfriends (office mates) went to Escolta Ice Cream and Snacks to avail our voucher from Metro Deal.
Escolta Ice Cream and Snacks is the only store in Manila that offers Big Scoop Ice Cream. (Or so I think?)
They offered their Big Scoop banana split which is regularly priced at P120 for only P49 talk about great deal huh!
It has three scoops of ice cream flavors, banana sliced into halves, some chopped nuts, whipped cream and cherry on top and chocolate syrup. The one that I got consists of strawberry, vanilla and chocolate. I love the strawberry and vanilla, because it is not that sweet.
We really enjoyed our banana split, and we promised to try their “Mount Everest”. It has 9 scoops of Big Scoop ice cream.
My mind now is again in its hyper mode. I’ve been thinking too much lately. Earlier on my way home my mind wanders off again. I realized that in less than four months I’m turning 31; yeah I know spinsterhood is just around the corner. But I don’t give a heck with that.
What is getting into my nerve is that up to this age I still haven’t got enough achievement to boost to. First, I haven’t got my own house. Second, I don’t have car yet and third, I tried to remember how much my savings is, I almost cried. Poor me!
Tsk! But that is all material things, and I am not a materialistic person. It’s nothing. (Did I hear someone booed?)
What I’m really alarmed is that when I try to figure out on what I’m really good at I realized there is none! Surely I know a lot of things. Someone called me before a “jill of all trades”. Now I can add “A master of nothing” to that.
Maybe now is the time to push thru my old goals. I really want to study again,
but not another degree! I think I shall enroll in short courses this year. It is never late for learning anyway.
I just wonder if this is what they call mid-life crisis.
Finally I’m done buying school things for Muriel. I’m no fan of late minute shopping for I have the tendency to forget something; even I have a list (sighs). I have started buying last March, and by the end of April I thought that I’m done with it.
But good lord I am so wrong. The teacher gave us list of things to buy and some I wasn’t able to buy beforehand. And to top it all the little girl doesn’t have a bag yet! That’s because I planned to get her a character bag from Tupper Brand, unfortunately I didn’t like the bag when I saw it. So off we go to SM North Edsa, and I was shocked to see all the people doing their last-minute back to school shopping. All counters have long queue (argh!). For a minute I thought I was again in 168 Mall at Divisoria except that the air conditioning is colder at 168. (Yes you read it right it is colder in 168 Mall than SM that time). After I have paid the bag we went to National Bookstore to have the teacher’s list complete, but as I was about to go inside I saw the people lining up at the counters I told myself this is no good. I decided to just drop at National Bookstore at Victory Mall hoping that there are fewer shoppers there. Alas, I am wrong again! You cannot even choose which one to buy for there are a lot of people; some items have fallen off from their shelves. What I did was to go straight to every section that I have to go and pick up the ones I needed never looking at the price (so much for frugality) and went straight to the line up for the counter. It took aeons to pay for the things that I bought.
I realized it’s better to buy at Divisoria and Binondo for school supplies, provided that you do it ahead of time. It’s not hard for me because I’m working at Binondo. I’ll just remember the added requirement of the teacher so I’ll buy it in advance next year.
Whew! I’m a bit nervous writing my first blog.
Oh yeah, technically this isn’t the first time that I’ll blog. I have started several blogs since I first discovered blogging, but for some reasons I stopped doing so. Hopefully this time I won’t forget my user name or email address used for this.(sigh!) Or I won’t lose interest writing. (crossing my fingers, as well as my toes).
I have several things in my mind to write for the next couple of days or weeks (so help me God!).
But for now I need to take a rest for I still have a work tomorrow. And I will be drifting off to sleep with a smile that I’ve had the courage to do this again.
